
Patricia Handlin

Ms. Handlin, Of Counsel to our firm, has been licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois for over 35 years. She attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois and De Paul University College of Law in Chicago where she received her Juris Doctorate in 1978. She lives in Chicago with her husband.
Ms. Handlin’s extensive litigation experience includes having served as an Administrative Law Judge with the Illinois Human Rights Commission, presiding over evidentiary hearings on complaints of violations of the Illinois Human Rights Act and having served as an Assistant Public Defender in Cook County, Illinois.
Ms. Handlin has practiced in the area of Elder Law with a focus on contested guardianship, estate and trust litigation. She has also represented agencies designated by the Illinois Department on Aging to receive and investigate complaints of elder abuse, neglect and financial exploitation and has represented clients with regard to predatory lending and other forms of financial exploitation of seniors. Her practice includes other contested civil litigation including the area of civil rights.
